Density divides total cargo weight by total cargo volume. A higher kg/m³ value means more mass is concentrated in each cubic metre, while a lower value describes a more volume-dominated shipment.

How it works
The calculation follows the formula shown in the result card: ρ = kg ÷ m³.
When to use it

What to check before dispatch
Density is only an average weight-to-volume ratio. It does not show whether the cargo fits the trailer, stays within payload or axle limits, can be stacked, or is distributed safely.
Worked example
12,000 kg ÷ 45 m³ → 266.7 kg/m³.
Common mistake
Do not use density alone to choose a truck. Two shipments with the same kg/m³ can have completely different dimensions, floor-space needs and axle-load behaviour.

Does freight density tell me whether the cargo is legal to load?
No. Density describes average kg per cubic metre only. Payload, gross weight, axle loads, dimensions, securing and other legal or operational limits must be checked separately.
