A Euro pallet has a 1.20 × 0.80 m footprint, or 0.96 m². Ten pallets therefore represent 9.6 m² of footprint. With a working trailer width of about 2.4 m, that is roughly 4.0 loading metres before allowing for gaps, orientation or loading constraints.
No. Pallet space measures the floor area or loading length the freight occupies. Payload is a weight limit. A load can be acceptable on one measure and exceed the other.
The floor-space estimate should be treated as a single-layer planning figure unless your load plan explicitly accounts for safe stacking. Stackability depends on the goods, packaging and handling conditions.
Gaps, pallet orientation, wheel-arch or equipment clearance, load-securing needs and mixed cargo can reduce usable floor space. The formula is a planning estimate, not a packing guarantee.
Use the load planner when space must be checked together with cargo weight, item position, payload use and balance. The pallet-space calculator is deliberately narrower.
The result is a geometric planning estimate. Real loading still depends on the trailer, cargo handling and securing requirements.
